1st frost not everywhere
Growing season slowly concludes

Time is flying by and the last week of October is upon us. The growing season is ending for more and more places nationally.

The growing season officially ends after the first freezing temperature occurs overnight. For many parts of the northern U.S., this has occurred over the past several weeks. The TemperatureRadar shows many parts of the southern and central U.S. are well above normal for the next several days, with highs in the 70s.

As the map above shows, there are still places along the I-95 corridor and throughout the South and southern Plains that still haven't seen their first freeze of the year.

This is the last week of daylight saving time before the clocks "fall back" early Sunday morning for many places in the U.S. This quiet weather week is a great time to go outside after work and do some autumn yardwork.
