This is it! The weekend is here and if you have plans outdoors you must know how the weather will affect your area. As it has been common during the past couple of weekends, mostly benign weather will dominate, compared to the active and severe conditions parts of the U.S. had the last three weeks, of course.

A cold snap will be happening across parts of the Ohio Valley and the Northeast as a strong low-pressure system slowly moves east while also producing snow (yep, still snow) across parts of the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys through the Northeast.

Fire risk will persist over parts of the Plains and also across the Southeast as very dry air and windy conditions take over. Please avoid all activities that involve fires or sparks.

Another system enters through the Pacific Northwest, producing a soggy weekend with the chance of some thunderstorms across coastal areas. The east slopes of the Cascades could receive a foot of snow. Conditions will gradually improve to start the next week.
