Bay Area winds: Tiles and couch flying from high rise

Bay Area, California
Tiles and couch flying from high rise

The latest storm that hit California on Tuesday and early Wednesday not only produced devastating floods across Southern California but, once again, the strong winds were the main character across the Bay Area.

The video above was filmed by Mr. Au as he was touring a high rise in Downtown San Francisco, as the gusts were howling at about 70 mph outside, and likely at a much lower level. The wind was stronger above causing the tile on the balcony floor to rip apart. As he was entering the apartment it wasn't just the balcony floor, he noticed how a couch flew outside landing just in front of a guy on the sidewalk-- missing him by a matter of a few feet.

This is exactly the reason why we tell you to secure objects if it is going to be windy. Luckily, this time, no one was hurt, but the outcome could have been much worse.
