    Big changes head east

Cooler days ahead
Big changes head east

Colder week ahead
Colder week ahead

After summer-like and near-record hot weather to start out the week, big changes will be happening across the East Coast today and Thursday.

A big cold front moving out of the Midwest will streak across the East Coast later today and Thursday. The WeatherRadar shows it touching off showers and thunderstorms as it streaks across the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley.

Behind the front, there will be a dramatic change in temperatures. The TemperatureRadar shows highs will only be in the 60s in places like Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and New York City. This is in stark contrast to the 90s seen early this week.

In addition to the cooler temperatures, the front could stall right over the Mid-Atlantic through Friday with another rainmaker sweeping across the East Coast, including the Southeast on Saturday. This could ruin a few holiday travel plans as rain and clouds linger.
