Big dips for Plains: U.S. temperature roller coaster

Big dip for Plains
U.S. temperature roller coaster

Big changes between Monday & Tuesday
A roller coaster of temperatures coming tonight and Tuesday across the Plains.

Buckle up for a wild ride on the temperature roller coaster this week. A late-season cold front will bring big temperature drops to the Rockies, Plains, and Midwest.

This extensive cold front will dive southward across the Plains tonight and linger over the southern Plains and the Front Range on Tuesday and Wednesday. It will trigger a few showers across the Plains, while an upper-level system riding along its path will produce late-season snow across the Rockies and Front Range, including Denver on Tuesday.

The WeatherRadar shows the system's track as it moves southward. The TemperatureRadar shows the big changes arriving later today and Tuesday. Places like Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, and Oklahoma City that were in the 70s and 80s on Monday will be 25 to 30 degrees colder on Tuesday and Wednesday.
