Breakfast brief
Tornado outbreak for OH, TN valleys

A possible tornado outbreak will take place in the Ohio and Tennessee valleys, with a main focus on Ohio. On the storm's back end, heavy snow is expected in the Upper Midwest.,

On this day in 1978, record cold reached as far south as Florida. Tallahassee recorded a record low of 31 degrees. The average low for this time of year in Tallahassee is 52 degrees. Check today's temperature forecast on the TemperatureRadar.

Today's weather outlook

A significant spring storm system brings the threat of severe weather including tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail, and flash flooding for the second day in a row.

Those in line for the most severe storms are in Ohio, including Canton, Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati, where a moderate risk has been issued (as of Monday evening) - a level 4 out of 5 on the severity scale. However, at least an isolated severe storm risk extends from the lower Mississippi Valley through the Mid-Atlantic and lower Great Lakes.

Due to the spring nature of the overall storm system, the backend of the low pressure will include heavy snowfall in the Upper Midwest. Luckily, the rest of the U.S. is in line for more of a quiet Tuesday.
