Clipper brings snow to northern tier

It was a winter wonderland in Brookings, S.D., on Tuesday. While the winter weather is beautiful, an approaching clipper may spell trouble for early holiday travelers.

The Weather & Radar app should be your first stop if you are planning on some early holiday travel. Our WeatherRadar picked up on snow in Brookings, S.D., and has a closer look at a clipper that will bring even more snow to the region Wednesday and Thursday.

The WeatherRadar shows snow spreading across the northern Plains and Midwest Wednesday and Thursday. Cities like Bismarck, N.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., Minneapolis, La Crosse, Wis., and Chicago will see snow moving in from west to east today into tomorrow.

Cold weather and snow may spell travel trouble into the weekend in cities like Chicago, where delays will be possible in the air and on the road. Frigidly cold temperatures will also build in for the weekend. While temperatures will warm back up into next week, you'll want to keep an eye on the chill with our TemperatureRadar.
