Cold has a curious effect
Look out for falling iguanas

South Florida doesn't experience ice falling from the sky like snow or sleet, but South Floridians can experience iguanas falling from the palm trees.

Sluggish Iguanas are possible on Saturday morning, and given the chilly temperatures, we can’t rule out an isolated falling Iguana or two. Temperatures across South Florida will be below 48 degrees around sunrise on Saturday. Highs will struggle to reach 70 F, and hardly any humidity in the air.

Iguanas are cold-blooded. When temperatures drop below 50°F, they start to become slow and sluggish. Even lower temperatures of 40 or less cause them to change into a state of hibernation; they essentially "freeze up" and become immobile.

The result may be lizards falling from the sky! However, there is good news: Even though they may seem dead, Iguanas do not die when they hit the ground, and they will get more agile once temperatures rise again.
