Daily briefing
Rainy along the East & West coasts

A few storm systems will be creating busy forecasts for both the East and West coasts today. This, along with our tropical update, is available at 5 a.m. ET in our daily briefing.

In the East, many across the Carolinas, the Mid-Atlantic, the lower Great Lakes and the Northeast will be seeing rain outside. The WeatherRadar shows the coastal Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic being impacted by the same system that brought rain to the Southeast and Florida on Sunday and this will eventually zip up into New England this evening. Additionally, another system will bring cold rain across the lower Great Lakes and the interior Northeast today.

To the West, the next atmospheric river event will bring rain and mountain snow to the Pacific Northwest, northern Rockies and northern California. Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar to know the timing.

Highs will be in the 50s and 60s except for in the warmer southern tier and colder higher elevations today. The southern tier, from southern California to Texas, will have highs in the 70s and 80s. While the Deep South stays in the upper 60s, Florida will have a mix of 70s and low 80s. Higher-elevation temperatures will be in the 40s and lower, depending on the elevation for the Appalachians and the Rockies.

Tropical Update

Tropical activity is not expected over the next several days. We continue to monitor the tropics as the Atlantic Hurricane Season lasts until November 30.
