Dangerous floods hit Dubai

More than a year's worth of rainfall fell in Dubai within 24 hours. Planes were grounded, vehicles were abandoned on highways, and buildings were flooded.

On average, Dubai sees around 2.7 inches of rain per year, but on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, more than 4.75 inches had piled up.

The WeatherRadar shows the multiple storm cells hitting the city and surrounding areas in the last 24 hours. Schools and government offices had been closed for the day due to the dangerous flooding.
