Dubai plunged into stormy chaos by hurricane force winds and flooding rain

Dubai was plunged into chaos after hurricane-force winds kicked up blinding sand and sent debris flying across the city.

During the past weekend, powerful storms developed in the desert. On Saturday, August 5th, the extreme weather reached the world-famous Dubai. Social media is filled with videos depicting strong winds sweeping through the city, tossing objects into the air. The footage above shows a dangerous incident as a piece of metal becomes a dangerous projectile.

Buildings suffered damage, and trees were uprooted. A dust storm significantly reduced visibility, making it hard to see beyond a few meters. The Dubai municipal authorities received more than 100 emergency calls from concerned citizens, reporting fallen trees, structural damage, and flooding.
