Southeast Florida
Rainfall deficit tops a foot

All heat and no rain for Southeast Florida today.
All heat and no rain for Southeast Florida today.

Southeast Florida receives almost five feet of rain on average throughout the year, with most of it falling during its rainy season from May to October. The first half of Rainy Season 2026 is down by more than a foot for Southeast Florida, leaving residents of a few high-population areas in the heat without a cooling storm.

Another dry forecast is detailed in the Weather & Radar app for Miami today, with temperatures - and humidity - soaring and no storm to cool residents down. The station in the suburb of Miami, Kendall, reports rainfall totals are down by 16 inches since the end of May.

The dry weather, thanks to consistent high-pressure systems and waves of Saharan dust, has contributed to drought expansion across the Peninsula, and especially in Southeast Florida.
