Enhanced risk
Severe outbreak continues on Sunday

After a deadly tornado outbreak occurred Friday night into Saturday night, severe weather continues on Sunday with as much as an enhanced risk issued, a level 3 out of 5 on the severity scale.

At least 30 people have lost their lives in this first major severe weather outbreak of the season. More than 1,000 severe weather reports have been collected by the National Weather Service since Friday, March 14, including more than 70 tornado reports stretching from the Gulf Coast to the Midwest.

Sunday will see more severe weather as the dynamic storm system continues trekking east. The WeatherRadar shows storms extending from the lower Great Lakes and Ohio Valley through Florida Sunday morning. As the daytime heating kicks in, stronger storms are expected to develop, especially in western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh.
