    Etna and Stromboli Erupt

Active Italian Volcanoes
Etna and Stromboli Erupt

Mount Etna, one of Italy's four active volcanoes erupted on Thursday. Stromboli, another active volcano, also showed activity on the same, releasing an impressive explosion.

Mount Etna erupts frequently, and Thursday's eruption allowed for some spectacular videos and images. This video of the Piano Provenzana area, located on the north side of Mount Etna, was taken with drones and shows the column of smoke rising from the crater.

At the same time, Stromboli, another one of Italy's active volcanoes, also roared to life with an impressive explosion on Thursday afternoon. This explosion led to an impressive ash cloud that could be seen from miles away. Our colleagues at Meteo & Radar in Italy posted some incredible images of this event.

While both Etna and Stromboli have frequent eruptions, they don't always create problems. However, on Thursday, flights at Catania Airport, the main international airport in Sicily, were canceled due to Mount Etna's volcanic activity.
