Excluding the Southeast
A warmer shift on the horizon

For many, spring can't come soon enough. This winter has been a true winter and colder than average for many. Luckily, just as spring is coming right around the corner, so is a brief warm spell.

The TemperatureRadar shows a slow warm-up over the next four days, shifting from a below-average chill, thanks to an arctic air mass, to above-average temperatures for most of the western two-thirds by Sunday. Don't worry, Eastern third, your time comes on Monday - but not you, Florida.

The polar jet will take a step northward over the next several days allowing for warmer, southern air to move up in latitude. The TemperatureRadar will be shifting from its cooler color tones to the warmer yellows, oranges and even reds if you're in Texas and the Southwest.

For Florida, it will take an extra couple of days for temperatures to rebound back to more average warmth due to the last bits of the arctic air mass sticking around.

Remember, this is still February and the warmer spell will be followed by colder, even below-average temperatures for some. Keep your eye on the local forecast, especially now that meteorological spring is only days away!
