Our new LightningRadar
Track lightning strikes in real time

Weather & Radar is happy to announce the latest app release, the LightningRadar!

When working outdoors or even attending an outdoor event, the weather is often on your mind. Now the LightningRadar is here to help.

Our well-known WeatherRadar still shows the lightning within storm systems anytime from 24 hours ago to three days into the future, but our LightningRadar shows the bolts in real time at any location across the whole globe!

Check out the LightningRadar and view the strikes in real time anywhere across the globe!

The LightningRadar shows the strikes that have occurred now and in the last 15 minutes. They show up as yellow dots and the age of the lightning strike can also be determined by the color.

The most recent lightning strikes have a red border that will slowly fade to different shades of yellow as they age. This will help you determine where the most recent lightning strikes are occurring! To get a better visual of what each yellow hue means, simply click the information icon to view the legend.

As you view the LightningRadar, you will notice white circles emanating from the most recent strikes. These circles depict the sound waves of thunder produced by the lightning strike hitting the surface, helping you to track thunderstorms as they move across an area.

When it comes to lightning, safety is key. We always remember that when thunder roars to go indoors, but now the LightningRadar can help you make quicker decisions as thunderstorms approach.

Get to know the LightningRadar on the latest app update, version 2022.20. If you have any questions about the LightningRadar, Weather & Radar is here to help! Simply click the “Contact Us” button in the main menu and send us a message.
