June 8, 2026

Up to 8 inches of rain
Flash flood threat targets the Ozarks

Flash flooding will be possible today for portions of the Ozarks, Midwest, Tennessee Valley, and parts of the Deep South.

After a wet weekend, more rain will drench areas already inundated by recent wet weather. With more rain in the forecast, flash flooding will be a concern today and tomorrow.

The WeatherRadar shows a stalled front draped across the Midwest, interacting with deep moisture, continuing to generate the threat of flash flooding today and Tuesday across the Ozarks, Midwest, Tennessee Valley, and parts of the Deep South.

Rain amounts will range from 1-3 inches across these regions, with a bullseye of 5-8 inches over parts of the Ozarks.

Cities such as Fayetteville, Ark., St. Louis, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tenn., Chicago and Louisville, Ken., should be alert to flooding today.
