Flash flooding in New Orleans

Heavy rain inundated parts of Louisiana on Monday. More than 50 roads were impassable in New Orleans due to flash flooding. More rain is on the way, meaning more flash flooding is possible.

Street flooding made travel difficult in New Orleans on Monday as heavy downpours moved through the region. The WeatherRadar shows a renewed threat of flooding today as more showers and storms are forecast for the area.

Today, rain totals will range from 1 to 2 inches across the New Orleans metro. Showers may bring a localized flooding threat to other areas, including parts of the Texas panhandle, southwest Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, north Georgia and southeast Tennessee.
