Flood danger increases
Downpours soak Texas, South

The Memorial Day weekend is kicking off on a stormy and soggy note from Texas across the South into the Southeast.

The WeatherRadar shows wave of heavy rain and thunderstorm developing from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley, the South and Southeast today and tonight.

In addition to ruining holiday beach plans along the Gulf Coast, the heavy rain can produce flooding across southern and eastern Texas, including around Austin, Houston and Shreveport, La.

The wet weather continues Sunday and Memorial Day Monday across the South and Southeast, increasing the chance for flooding all weekend.
