Florida ready?
A quick cooldown! Sweaters for 2 days?

Florida, enjoy the cooldown because in true Florida fashion… it won’t last for too long!

The cold front is about to clear the peninsula. Temperatures will continue to gradually fall through Thursday afternoon. The temperatures on Thursday around South Florida will struggle to reach the 80s. While Central Florida will remain in the upper 60s, and north Florida in the upper 50s.

While freezing temperatures will reign across Florida’s Panhandle, the mid-40s will be present for cities like Orlando and Tampa. South Florida will also feel a chilly morning on Friday, with temperatures in the low 60s.

Lows on Saturdays.

Highs across Central Florida will be around 3 degrees below normal, while Tampa Bay will stay with temperatures between 5 and 8 degrees below normal on Friday, which puts them around the low 60s. South Florida’s low to mid-70s could feel a bit lower due to the strong northerly winds; some gusts could reach 20 mph.

It will be a quick turnaround!

Friday and Saturday will be rather similar across the entire state. The only difference will be that the winds will be shifting and with this shift, we forecast an increase in temperatures across Florida on Sunday. Temperatures will jump to the low 80s for Orlando, this puts the “City Beautiful” around 9 degrees above normal. Miami will also experience a Sunday afternoon in the low-80s, around 4 degrees above normal. We do not expect any records to be broken statewide this weekend.

How about the rain?

It will be a mostly sunny weekend. Over northern Florida, heavier showers will arrive ahead of the next system approaching from the west. There could be some puffier clouds making a comeback on Sunday across the Peninsula, and a stray shower or two could develop, but nothing Florida can’t take!
