Frost/freeze possible
Spring chill from Midwest to Northeast

Now that we're into April, the warming temperatures make us notice the cold ones even more so. Below-average temperatures will spread from the Midwest to the Northeast through Tuesday and Wednesday.

The TemperatureRadar shows Tuesday morning temperatures ranging from the teens and 20s from the northern tier and Upper Midwest down to the Ohio Valley, with upper 20s, 30s and 40s across the Northeast through the Mid-Atlantic. Many will be layering up in these cold temperatures, as much as 15 degrees below average.

Gardeners and farmers are well aware of this time of year, when final frosts and freezes take place, marking the beginning of the growing season. These next two days, both parties will be watching these temperatures closely, especially from central Illinois to the DelMarVa and the New Jersey coasts.

Many noticed a cold preview with temperatures dropping as an Easter cold front moved through over the weekend. Post-rain views included gravity waves and a good breeze across the Mid-Atlantic, captured well with our new app feature.
