Growing flood threat for New Orleans

Torrential downpours swamped the New Orleans metro this morning, and with more rain on the way, flash flooding remains a concern into the evening.

Heavy rain moved through New Orleans on Wednesday morning, prompting flash flooding concerns. Severe weather is also possible. Strong storms may produce gusty winds, hail and even isolated tornadoes.

With an additional 1-3 inches of rain forecast, the threat of dangerous flooding lingers into Wednesday evening.
