    Heat builds today and tomorrow

High humidity
Heat indices soaring

It's not just the heat; it's the humidity causing trouble this weekend. As hot highs build into the country's midsection, high humidity levels will send heat indices soaring.

Keep an eye on the TemperatureRadar, as heat will dominate the weather across much of the country this weekend as a strong high-pressure system expands from the Intermountain West to the Gulf Coast.

The most dangerous heat will be in the Desert Southwest today, where lower elevations will see highs well into the 110s. Added humidity in parts of southern California and Arizona will make it feel even hotter.

Heat will also intensify across the western High Plains, from central Montana into the Dakotas today and tomorrow. The southern and central Plains will also experience highs in the 90s and 100s, with heat indices over 100.
