Black Friday forecast
Holiday shopping kick-off

Black FridayBig crowds are likely today.

The official start of the holiday shopping season has kicked off. Whether you are heading to the mall, shopping online or already done with your shopping and relaxing, don't let the weather surprise you.

This time of year, the weather is always changing, with big swings in temperature and the chance of rain and snow possible.

What is Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving is always the biggest shopping day of the year when stores would make their most profit or be in the “black,” to use accounting lingo. Big sales and doorbusters are used to draw holiday shoppers into the store in hopes that people would spend more money there.

The local forecast is divided into different day sections so you can see what the forecast will be for this morning, afternoon, evening and tonight. If you need to see if rain or snow will affect your drive to the store, the 90-minute weather feature gives you a quick glance of what is coming your way.

Going long distances today, and you want to see if bad weather is along your path, use the WeatherRadar to see if your drive will be cloudy, sunny or if there will be precipitation affecting it. The TemperatureRadar provides a glance at the temperatures locally and nationally.
