Since last week, Hurricane Polo has been moving along the west coast of Mexico, bringing stormy weather and rain without its center making landfall. It is now changing course and heading straight for the Baja California Peninsula.

During the night leading up to Tuesday, the hurricane will make landfall with wind gusts exceeding 120 miles per hour, waves up to 32 feet high and torrential rainfall. Among other things, there is a significant risk of flash floods and landslides.

It's busy in the Pacific, and Polo is not the only tropical system at the moment: Nolo is currently skirting the southern coast of Hawaii, while off the southwest coast of Mexico, Tropical Storm Rachel is set to intensify into a hurricane. In the Western Pacific, Typhoon SURIGAE is likely to pass just wide of Japan.
