Milwaukee to Chicago
Lake breeze keeps things cool

Cold winds off of Lake Michigan are keeping those from Milwaukee to Chicago chilly.
Cold winds off of Lake Michigan are keeping those from Milwaukee to Chicago chilly.

Gusty winds blowing off of cool Lake Michigan are helping keep residents from Milwaukee to Chicago in their layers this Monday.

On average, high temperatures range from the low to upper 60s from Milwaukee to Chicago this time of year. But an upper-level trough is not only pushing cold northern temperatures into the Upper Midwest, but gusty winds up to 30 mph off the lake are making it feel even cooler.

The TemperatureRadar shows highs into low-to-mid 50s, but the 'feels like' temperatures are in the upper 40s to low 50s today, thanks to the cool lake breeze.

According to our Marine Weather report, lake temperatures are also hovering in the upper 40s and low 50s, ensuring things stay cool as long as the winds are blowing off of the water.
