More severe storms in the forecast

Another potent storm will track across the country, bringing the threat of severe weather and flash flooding to the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys this week. Many areas that had severe storms over the weekend, such as Arkansas, will see a renewed threat today and tomorrow.

If you're getting deja vu, it's no April Fool's joke; once again, the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys are at risk of severe weather Tuesday and Wednesday. A potent flood threat is also forecast, with some areas expecting more than a foot of rain over the next five days.

The WeatherRadar shows most of the action getting started after sunset today. Intense storms will fire up from Texas to Missouri, bringing the risk of large hail, damaging winds and strong tornadoes tonight. Cities like Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Okla., Kansas City and Wichita, Kan., could see dangerous overnight storms.

Severe storms forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Severe risk shifts east on Wednesday. Numerous severe storms are likely Wednesday and Wednesday night across the Lower Great Lakes, Mid Mississippi Valley and the ArkLaTex. The threat extends from Shreveport, La., to Chicago. Severe wind gusts, very large hail, and strong tornadoes are possible.

We're also tracking a significant flood threat across the lower Ohio Valley and Mid-South over the next few days. More than a foot of rain is forecast through Saturday. Stay alert and make sure your Weather & Radar app alerts are turned on.
