More storms this evening
Storms light up Oklahoma

Lightning lit up the sky in Norman, Okla., last night, and more storms are forecast this afternoon and evening.

It was a light show in Oklahoma on Thursday night as numerous storms moved across the state. More storms are expected across Kansas and Oklahoma tonight, and some storms may be severe.

The WeatherRadar shows thunderstorms firing up later this afternoon and after sunset in Kansas and Oklahoma. Cities such as Colby and Wichita, Kan., and Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., may see powerful storms.

While damaging winds will be the main threat with any strong storms that develop, large hail with a diameter of 2 inches or more is possible across parts of Kansas and northern Oklahoma. If you have access to covered parking, it's a good idea to take advantage of it this afternoon and tonight.
