No more in NYC schools
Don’t blame weather for ‘no snow days’

There will be no more snow days for kids in school in New York City. Don’t blame the lack of snow (which we know it’s not the case). You can blame the internet and computers, the 24/7 accessibility of nowadays.

Remote learning, put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, has allowed officials to see that if a snowstorm affects the city’s daily activities, classes do not need to be canceled. Kids can just hop on the home computer (often provided by the same school) and continue their learning seamlessly. Kids will now have the full 180 school days without any snow days to disrupt the flow.

Some places in the Northeast are analyzing this option, others have decided to keep the traditional snow days.

Some residents love the idea, but many find ‘snow days rather important and a part of life.

Our own team of meteorologists has strong feelings about this. So, we decided to share their thoughts with all of you.
