New Orleans
Super Bowl LIX weather preview

Football’s major holiday weekend is here! It’s time for Super Bowl LIX (59) where the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in the last three years.

This Super Bowl will take place in New Orleans at 5:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, February 9, 2025. The WeatherRadar shows partly to mostly cloudy skies at this time but dry conditions with a slight breeze. Even if there was rain – or snow – in the forecast, the Ceasar’s Superdome, where the game will commence, is a closed structure.

It wasn’t too long ago when New Orleans received 10 inches of snow! This event in January 2025 completely wiped the NOLA record board. The previous record – only 2.7 inches – was set back in 1963. January’s event blew the last record out of the icy water more than 3.5 times over, which is a rarity for the Gulf Coast city.

The TemperatureRadar on Sunday shows low 70s at the time of kickoff and only getting to the mid-60s by the time the game is ending. Quite comfortable! Believe it or not, New Orleans holds the record for the coldest Super Bowl event at 39 degrees at Tulane Stadium in 1970, before fans were comfortable inside a superdome.

Fans watching from home in Kansas City or Philadelphia will have very similar weather conditions with temperatures in the upper 20s and at least partly cloudy skies. If you’re attending or just want to keep a close eye on the conditions, keep an eye on the WeatherRadar.
