    NYE: Soggy NYC Revelers

05:20 PM
December 31, 2024

New Year's Eve
Rainy NYE for NYC

New Year's revelers heading to Times Square for tonight's big New Year Eve's festivities better be prepared for a deluge of rain. A rumble of thunder can't be ruled out.

The WeatherRadar shows a quick-moving storm system rolling out of the Midwest and into the Northeast late this afternoon and evening. The warm front and the center of the low pressure system will move across New York City close to midnight.

This will bring a burst of rain and even a few rumbles of thunder, especially during the 11 p.m. hour. The rain could linger until after Auld Lang Syne has been sung and the soggy confetti has been released.

New York won't be the only big city affected by this system. Detroit and Cleveland could receive snow as the western edge pulls down colder air from the north.

Weather & Radar hourly forecast is a great way to plan your New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

We wish everyone a safe and sound New Year's.
