Tips for summertime stargazing

As autumn quickly approaches, warm nights will soon be coming to an end. Now is the time to get in some summertime stargazing with our astro feature.

Summertime is fantastic for stargazing, and if you are planning to make the most of the warmer weather, our app can help you plan your sky-viewing schedule.

First, you'll want to make sure the sky is clear enough to see those astronomical delights. Our WeatherRadar and hourly forecasts make it easy to determine when your skies will be clear and whether you'll need a light jacket.

Next, look for a viewing spot away from light pollution. Bring a blanket or reclining chair to stay comfortable, and give your eyes 20-30 minutes to adjust to the darkness fully.

Finally, use our app's astro function (under the webcams and above the water information and UV index) to get the details on sunrise and sunset times and moonrise, moonset, and moon phase information.
