River flooding continues after rain ends

River flooding will continue despite the rain ending as water drains into river basins. On Sunday, a highway in Glendale, Ky., was submerged under floodwater as the Kentucky River neared record levels. Significant flooding also occurred near Cincinnati and central Indiana.

While the WeatherRadar shows drier conditions moving in, the life-threatening flooding continues across portions of the Mid-South and Ohio Valley. A highway in Glendale, Ky., was submerged as the Kentucky River neared record levels. A dozen people were rescued from floodwaters in Columbus, Ind., and the Ohio River swelled its banks north of Cincinnati.

Flooding is a concern this week along the Ohio River in Paducah, Ky., and along the Mississippi River near Memphis. Waters will also rise further south along the Mississippi River as water drains. Baton Rouge, La., could see its highest water levels in four years within the next two and a half weeks.
