Severe storms are back in the forecast this weekend, and many may need to move outdoor plans indoors depending on the timing.

The central U.S. has a disturbance rolling off the Rockies that will help trigger severe weather activity on Saturday.

The WeatherRadar shows two rounds of storms: one in the morning and another that strengthens with afternoon heating. Residents of Kansas City, Mo., Wichita, Kan., Des Moines, Ill., and Lincoln, Neb., will all have to keep a close eye on the sky.

Although this same storm system is expected to bring stormy weather across much of the eastern U.S. on Sunday, eyes are on the Mid-Atlantic for more severe weather.

Not to be outdone, the southern U.S. will see heavy rain, possibly causing flash flooding, from Texas to Georgia on Sunday. Have at least three ways to receive weather warnings and make sure your app alerts are switched on.
