Severe storms have been ongoing since Thursday, with dozens of tornadoes reported yesterday across the Plains. More severe weather, including tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, and flooding, is possible today. This live blog will be updated throughout the day to bring you the latest information.

4:00 p.m. CT

Long-lived supercell storms in north Texas could produce intense tornadoes and very large hail.

3:00 p.m. CT

The WindRadar shows gusts upwards of 45 mph across the southern Plains. Even outside of strong storms, wind damage is possible.

2:00 p.m. CT

The WeatherRadar shows storms developing across Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. The threat of severe storms will grow over the next few hours.

1:00 p.m. CT

A tornado watch is in effect until 8 p.m. for parts of western Oklahoma and north Texas. Intense tornadoes and very large hail are possible.

12:00 p.m. CT

The flash flooding risk in central Oklahoma has increased. A rare high risk of excessive rain has been added southeast of Oklahoma City. Stay alert and be prepared to move to higher ground.

11:30 a.m. CT

Storms are already firing up in Oklahoma. Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar today. A moderate risk of severe weather (a level 4 out of 5) extends across north central Texas into central Oklahoma and eastern Kansas. This is where the greatest threat of strong tornadoes will be.
