Severe storms for southern Plains

For those traveling through Texas, severe storms may lead to some travel trouble later in the day. Some of the same areas that saw powerful storms on Christmas Eve are at risk again, including the Houston metro.

Heavy rain and hail ripped through Cypress, Texas, on Christmas Eve. The WeatherRadar shows another round of possibly severe storms moving across east Texas into Louisiana and southwest Arkansas this afternoon and evening.

Severe storms may impact air travel through Dallas and Houston, especially later today. All hazards are possible, including damaging winds, hail and even a few isolated tornadoes. Road travel may also be challenging, and flash flooding is possible. Remember, turn around, don't drown.
