Threat continues
Severe storms for the Plains

More severe weather will impact portions of the northern Plains and central U.S. today. Damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes are all possible.

The WeatherRadar shows storms capable of producing large-to-very-large hail and damaging wind gusts will develop today across portions of the northern High Plains, northern Nebraska, and much of South Dakota. Cities like Aberdeen, Rapid City and Pierre, S.D., as well as Valentine, Neb., are at risk today.

We will close the week out with another severe threat for this region. Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected Friday afternoon through Friday night from portions of the central Plains into the Upper Great Lakes. These storms may produce large-to-very-large hail, damaging winds—including potentially significant gusts—and a few tornadoes.
