Forecast by our meteorologist

It will be a relatively active weekend across the Deep South and the Southeast as some severe thunderstorms are in the forecast for the region.

The risk of severe storms increases a bit more for Sunday afternoon into the evening when we expect a few severe storms to develop over the Mississippi River Valley through the Deep South.

For the west, another winter storm is forecast to dump up to one foot of snow in elevations above 6,000 feet over Northern California and Oregon. Mixed precipitation will move east on Sunday, affecting the Rockies.

Toasty temperatures and very muggy for the South, from Texas through Florida.
