Snow day summoning rituals for when you want a day off

Need the day off school?
Snow day summoning rituals

Snowman

Everyone has wanted a snow day at least once during their school days, maybe even during your work days - except for maybe South Florida! If snow is in your forecast, there are a few rituals you can try in hopes of a school or work closure email that everyone can participate in.

These rituals can be done the evening before the possible snow day.

  • Wear your pajamas inside out and backwards! You can put up with the tag tickling your chin all night for a snow day, right?
  • Sleep with a spoon under your pillow. Teaspoon, tablespoon, a soup spoon, it doesn't matter! We're not sure if sporks work though, so stick with the basics.
  • Plan to eat ice cream after dinner. Do you really need more of a reason to do so?
  • Throw ice cubes down the toilet and flush them. Every ice cube represents an inch of snow, so how much snow does it take to close where you are? Careful not to clog! Some say to throw the ice cubes in the yard, so go ask your mom before you flush.
  • Do a snow dance! Why not throw the ice cubes in the toilet and dance while they flush? This sounds like a two-birds-and-one-stone situation to me!

Did these rituals work for you? Send a pic of the snow to our uploader to share!

Happy snow days and remember to watch the WeatherRadar to see if snow is headed your way.
