Soggy weekend, partly
Florida’s big change is coming

Florida you might be too excited about the cooldown to look past the drop in temperatures. But you should and must know, that although it will be cooler, the skies will also remain gloomy throughout much of the week over the Sunshine(less) State.

The cold front pushing through Florida brings the risk of severe storms on Thursday. By Friday, the cold front will be losing its punch, leaving clouds and rain mainly over South Florida.

Central Florida will enjoy the aftermath of the cold front on Friday with most of its glory. Temperatures in the afternoon will struggle to reach 70 degrees and the skies will remain mostly sunny. But from Lake Okeechobee southward, including southwest Florida, the skies will be mostly cloudy with the chance of showers and an isolated storm.

High temperatures on Friday afternoon across Florida.

Rainfall on Friday across South Florida should remain below half an inch, but there could be some isolated areas, especially over southeast Florida where totals could surpass one inch.

On Saturday, the deep moisture returns to the Peninsula, as a low-pressure system, which will form from the tail end of the front that passed on will bring back the chance for thick clouds, showers, and scattered storms. Some parts of Central Florida could receive over 2 inches of rain on Saturday through Sunday morning.

This low-pressure system will come with a reinforcing cold front that will sweep all the clouds and rain southward. On Sunday, the clouds will break after 6 a.m. across Central Florida, and over South Florida, the skies will begin to clear after 12 p.m. local time. Temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees in Orlando, while places in South Florida, like Miami, will finally experience cooler temperatures.

Highs will be in the upper 60s and that’s COLD for Miami. Monday morning temperatures for Miami will be in the mid-50s, while inland locations could experience the upper-40s!
