The northern lights shine particularly brightly on the German Baltic Sea coast.

A powerful solar storm hit Earth late Sunday night into early this morning, producing auroras in many parts of Europe and Canada. The dancing lights in the sky were seen as far south as the European Alps.

There were only a few reports of auroras in the extreme northern reaches of the contiguous 48 states and across Alaska. However, the geomagnetic storm that produced the aurora show across Europe is forecast to continue tonight.

The WeatherRadar shows a clear sky across much of the East, South and West tonight. Snow could block any potential aurora viewing across the northern Plains.
