South to North
Multi-day flood threat

A powerful storm is bringing a multi-day flood threat from the Gulf Coast to the Northeast. Snowmelt in the Northeast will enhance the flood risk. The video above shows Pulaski, N.Y., where more than a foot of snow fell this weekend.

Wild temperature swings are turning snow to rain and back to snow again in Pulaski, N.Y. Our WeatherRadar shows rain in the forecast through Wednesday afternoon in western New York, but frigid air will turn that rain into snow by the nighttime hours.

The WeatherRadar shows rain extending from the northern Gulf Coast to the Northeast today through Thursday as a powerful system moves through. As a reinforcing shot of cold air moves in Wednesday, snow showers expand across the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and interior Northeast.

The flood threat is confined to the northern Gulf Coast today and the Southeast tomorrow, with a couple of strong storms possible. On Wednesday, the flood threat shifts to the Northeast, where melting snow has helped to create saturated ground. Keep an eye on the WeatherRadar and make sure your app alerts are turned on.
