A fresh season
Springtime could be making you happier

Have you felt an extra boost lately? Might be spring and the sunshine! Both can make us feel happier.

The season is about re-birth and life. The birds are back and chirping outside, the flowers are starting to bloom and trees are beginning to get their leaves back.

Increased amounts of daylight generally come with more sunshine and warmer temperatures.

Sunshine helps regulate our body clocks so we feel more rested. It also helps activate the Vitamin D within our bodies to promote bone growth, aid calcium absorption, and boost our immune system.

In addition, sunshine lowers our blood pressure and our stress levels.

Not all of us feel this way though, with spring fatigue also taking hold.

Don’t worry, spring fatigue is rather common. According to doctors, our tiredness at this time of year is a way of our body telling us we are lacking in some important elements after the winter season.

Eating a well-balanced diet, getting sunlight, and exercising can all help. As can a cold morning shower to get the blood pumping to start the day.

Finally, if you do feel lethargic, it is important to rest and get enough sleep.
