Intense storms traverse South Fla.

South Florida thunderstorms bring heavy rain and frequent lightning.

This Wednesday afternoon, multiple thunderstorms have developed across South Florida, impacting several cities, including Miami, Coral Springs, and West Palm Beach. Southwest winds carrying abundant moisture from the Gulf of Mexico are fueling these storms.

Despite the intensity of these storms—characterized by heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and frequent lightning—no significant impacts have been reported as of the publication of this article. However, more storms are forecast for the region, with the primary concern remaining the potential for localized flash flooding, particularly in urban and low-lying areas.

As of 4 p.m. EDT, thunderstorms affected portions of Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Pampano, and surrounding metropolitan areas. Residents can continue to track the storms and lightning using WeatherRadar. For a more comprehensive look at lightning, check out the LightningRadar.
