Texas, Ark., Okla.
Death tolls climbs after severe storms

At least 5 people have died due to Saturday’s severe weather outbreak over Texas and multiple injuries have been reported.

Severe storms ripped through other states too. Parts of Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma also experienced numerous reports of power outages caused by damaging winds and some probable tornadoes. One dead has been reported in Bentonville, Arkansas. More than 2 dozen tornadoes were reported. Houses, buildings, and campers have been reported damaged. In Rogers County, Oklahoma, there were multiple people trapped and authorities worked through before sunset to rescue people.

In North Texas, there are reports of children among the 5 dead in Cook County, and more children missing from a site of manufactured homes where a tornado might have hit. Authorities say that the number of dead is likely to escalate along with the injury count. As the morning progresses, more reports are coming out of neighboring states as cleanup continues.

Severe storms will continue to move east and threaten the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys on Sunday, while the Mid-Atlantic and Gulf States will likely experience severe storms on Memorial Day.
