Tropical Depression 8
Invest 98L: no stopping & strong future

Invest 98L moving toward the Caribbean as seen in our WeatherRadar

As Fiona continues to crawl away from the Dominican Republic and over Turk and Caicos, there are two other systems we are watching.

Tropical Depression 8 formed in the open central Atlantic and it is not expected to affect land.

There is a tropical wave about 700 miles west of the Windward Islands. This system is moving to the west between 15 and 20 mph and could develop into a tropical depression or storm by the end of this week.

Invest 98L to enter the Caribbean this week and could develop into a tropical system.

Track Invest 98L for the next 3 days in our WeatherRadar

Invest 98L is forecast to enter the Caribbean by passing close to Trinidad and Tobago. Conditions are favorable for this system to strengthen as there is not much wind shear and there is plenty of warm water to feed off from.

The overall trajectory of this system will be over the Caribbean and reach the western Caribbean by next week. An exact landfall is impossible to pinpoint at this time as the system is not developed and is very far out.

There is plenty of time to monitor Invest 98L, and plenty of time for residents to be prepared. Remember hurricane season doesn’t end until November 30, and it only takes one storm to make it a busy season for you.
