Tropical update
60% chance of tropical development

An area of disturbed weather located over 800 miles east of Bermuda now has a 60 percent chance of becoming a tropical system in the next 2 days.

The reality is that if this system doesn’t get its act together in terms of organization on Thursday or Friday, the chances for it to acquire tropical characteristics will decrease over the weekend as the system enters cooler waters. The next name on the list is Don.

Disturbance has a 60% chance of development within the next 2 days.

The long-range models show that there could be rising air favorable over the eastern Atlantic as tropical waves emerge from Africa late next week. But of course, we must see how much dust is also emerging from the continent and see which of the two will win the battle.

We have not had a named tropical system in July so far.

We will have the next tropical update on Friday.
