This week will continue to play quietly across the Atlantic Basin as the Madden-Julian Oscillation goes through a suppression phase.

From mid-August on, our eyes shift to the eastern Atlantic. More tropical waves will be emerging from Africa. But those take a while to travel east, so we will have plenty of time to monitor those.
