Tropical update
Disturbance not likely to develop

Tropical Disturbance has decreasing chances of developing into a tropical system as it moves over cooler waters.

Apparently, the disturbance that could become an offseason storm, is no more! Chances decrease as it moves north.

The disturbance has a 10 percent chance of becoming a tropical system. The trend is going down as conditions will continue to turn against its development. Our WeatherRadar shows how the system will continue to move northward and by Sunday it will be over the far northern Atlantic pushing a cold front toward the coast of Portugal.

First, the system is moving over cooler waters. Also, the disturbance is part of a frontal system, which changes its characteristics and will not allow it to become tropical anymore.

It is safe to say that the season has come to an end… at least for now. The tropics are the gift that keeps on giving but as we have discussed before, it would be very rare to see storms forming during the winter.
