Tropical update
Tropical system near Southeast?

Although we are not officially in the season, it is that time of the year when we start bringing you daily tropical updates. Every morning you will find a tropical update right here on Weather & Radar to give you a quick glance at what we are monitoring or what could develop in the coming days. Some will be short (hopefully many), and some will be more detailed. Of course, if you have any questions, you can reach out to us via social media or email. Let’s get to it!

This week we started with the low chance for a broad low-pressure area to develop near the Bahamas, this one quickly became history as wind shear, as expected, put an end to it.

In the coming days, our WeatherRadar shows that there will be lots of moisture producing downpours and storms around the Florida region and Southeast as a front and a low-pressure system meander nearby. None of this rain is tropically derived, but some models are showing that there could be a sneaky little low forming just east of Florida and taking a quick turn onto the Georgia or Carolinas coast.

This kind of setup and formation is common during the beginning of the season, as there could be energy left over from fronts that linger in the Gulf of Mexico or just east of the East Coast.

Early season, or off-season, storms tend to be messy, and big rainmakers. It is also very important to highlight that these kinds of systems, that form from lingering energy, tend to give little time to prepare, as they usually form near the coast.

Make sure to go through your preparedness list and start knocking off things for the season that could save you a headache, time, and money!
